Dynomutt originally began as a segment of the Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour in 1976, then was featured a year later on Scooby's All-Star Laff-A-Lympics, before this solo series which ran in 1978 for only 3 months. Despite it's short run, Dynomutt was still a Saturday morning favorite of mine. Most memorable from the show for me was the cool opening with Gary Owens' Blue Falcon narration. I still remember the shot of Dynomutt effortlessly stopping a train one-handed (or one-pawed) while Owens announced "stronger than a train with a so-so brain" to which Frank Welker's Dynomutt was heard replying "You talking about me, Blue Falcon?" I also remember the unique vocals of Ron Feinberg, who provided the show's narration in 60s Batman TV series fashion. The show did take a few cues from Batman: Blue Falcon's millionaire alter-ego, the Falcon Flash signal, etc. The Falconcar was smooth, almost smoother than the Batmobile because it flew. "Blue Falcon! And Dog Wonder! Away!" The villains were colorful and inspired, most notably my favorites Queen Hornet (loved the way she said Blue Falcon's name) and Super Thug. Dynomutt himself was a bit conflicting. On the one hand he was powerful and inventive with the array of gadgets that he contained, and yet on the other hand he was often clumsy in the actual use and control of his gadgets to which Blue Falcon or B.F. (as Dynomutt called him) would dub the canine "Dog BLUNDER." Dynomutt Dog Wonder (Picture 4). Dynomutt Dog Wonder cartoon images gallery 4. Dynomutt Dog Wonder cartoon pictures collection 4. It was usually when Dynomutt DIDN'T think too much was when he prevailed. Another funtastic Hanna-Barbera show! Trivia: If it weren't for Dynomutt, shows like The Robonic Stooges and the immensely popular Inspector Gadget would not exist. Dynomutt originated the gadget formula used within those shows. Dynomutt is a crime fighting canine- a cross between Scooby Doo and Inspector Gadget, who is 'stronger than a train with a so-so brain' and with a dopey sounding voice to match. He and his partner known as the Blue Falcon- who is a send-up of DC Comics' own Batman- patrol the streets, towns well everywhere in fact, to fight crime and get rid of the bad guys, of whom were a mixture of different monsters and villains. There were two sides of Dynomutt- one being that he could stretch his legs in the same way as Inspector Gadget and that he also possessed an array of gadgets at his disposal. However, what Dynomutt lacks is a good brain and being able to think intelligently. Very often the Blue Falcon would suffer at the expense of his doggy accomplice who gets him and themselves into more trouble. The aptly titled 'dog blunder' was irreverently used by Blue Falcon to refer to Dynomutt, which you could say was rather harsh. I liked how Frank Welker voiced Dynomutt, as he captured his personality and daftness exceptionally well. He was a dopey dog and one where we could laugh along with and at him and his silly antics. Dynomutt's antics had me laughing at times. The villains were also good- very creative, colourful and inventive. In all, Dynomutt was good, clean wholesome fun and funny to boot as well. It might not be up their with the very best of Hanna Barbera, but its a worthy effort still. Dynomutt Dog Wonder (Picture 4). Dynomutt Dog Wonder cartoon images gallery 4. Gary Owens and Frank Welker reprise their roles of Blue Falcon and Dynomutt in guest appearances in the Dexter's Laboratory episode "Dyno-Might" (which was considered to be the darkest of the duo's adventures). Blue Falcon comes to Dexter when Dynomutt is heavily damaged during their fight with Buzzord (voiced by Rob Paulsen). Though Dynomutt is rebuilt by Dexter, Dynomutt ends up trashing his laboratory causing Dexter to deactivate Dynomutt and create Dynomutt X-90 (also voiced by Frank Welker), who becomes a fanatical vigilante, using excessive and lethal force to deal with minor crimes such as jaywalking and littering. Dexter became Dexstar to help Blue Falcon stop Dynomutt X-90. When Dynomutt X-90 ends up trapping Dexter and Blue Falcon, Dexter stated that he created Dynomutt X-90 when the other Dynomutt was a goofy idiot sidekick. Dynomutt Dog Wonder (Picture 3). Dynomutt Dog Wonder cartoon images gallery 3. Dynomutt Dog Wonder cartoon pictures collection 3. This causes Blue Falcon to reactivate the real Dynomutt while telling Dexter that "He wasn't just a goofy idiot sidekick! He was a...go-go dog person!" Dynomutt arrives and distracts Dynomutt X-90 enough for Dexter to deactivate him. Blue Falcon and Dynomutt then thank Dexter for their help, with the former noting to Dexter that "It's a goofy idiot sidekick that's makes a superhero super!" A talking worm called Worm and his henchman Grub use a digging machine to spring Bugsy Busby and Roto Chopper from prison in a plot to steal a super-computer. Superthug and his henchman Zorkon have created a super-dynamic steel skeleton and plans to use it to steal the city's steel supply to mass-produce an army of steel skeletons. Blue Falcon loses his Falcon Communicator while he and Dynomutt are fighting Mr. Cool. Mr. Cool then makes Blue Falcon think that he is F.O.C.U.S. One claiming that Dynomutt needs to recalled to where he was made. Swamp Rat and his henchman Mudmouth plan to flood Big City by using stolen pumps to send half the water in Bogmyer Swamp into Big City to start a crime spree. Blue Falcon and Dynomutt are assisted by Scooby-Doo and Mystery Inc. to stop the villains before Big City becomes Bog City. A hack movie director named Eric von Flick plans to make a movie called "The Total Destruction of Big City" starring his robotic creation Tin Kong. Dynomutt Dog Wonder (Picture 3). Blue Falcon and Dynomutt are assisted in catching him by Scooby-Doo and the rest of Mystery Inc. A caveman-like criminal named Lowbrow wants to become the King of Crime and steals some books that will help him in his quest. Blue Falcon and Dynomutt end up assisted by Mystery Inc. into stopping Lowbrow. Millionaire socialite art dealer Radley Crowne (a Bruce Wayne incarnate) and his mechanical mongrel, Dynomutt, enjoy leisure time in their base of operations, Big City, until alerted by The Falcon Flash. They immediately dash for The Falcon's Lair (situated in Crowne's penthouse apartment), where they switch to their secret identities, The Blue Falcon and Dog Wonder, respectively, recieve the report via TV screen from the secret GHQ of secret agent Focus One (voiced by the late Ron Feinberg, the tounge-in-cheek narrator of all 20 segments of Dynomutt Dog Wonder), and jump into The Falconcar and speed into the fray against assorted evildoers. Dynomutt Dog Wonder (Picture 2). Dynomutt Dog Wonder cartoon images gallery 2. Dynomutt Dog Wonder cartoon pictures collection 2. In a coup not unsimilar to the 1960s Batman TV series, the first 10 minutes of Dynomutt ended with a cliffhanger wherein The Daring Duo, in the clutches of their foes, were subjected to a perilous fate which would be resolved immediately after the commercial. The metallic mutt employed a system of miniaturized transistors which allowed him to extend his limbs or neck and use them to perform extraordinary feats; only problem was, none of them ever really worked properly! B.F. (as D.W. would lovingly refer to him), was more Dynomutt's victim than his master, forever being hamstrung by the latter's mechanized mishaps. But nevertheless, Dynomutt and The Blue Falcon, who was equipped with his own arsenal of supergadgetry (what superhero wouldn't be?) manage to get the situation well in hand. Sometimes Lt. Mumbly or even Dynomutt's co-stars, Scooby-Doo and his mystery-solving teen consorts Shaggy Rogers, Freddy Jones, Daphne Blake and Velma Dinkley, would drop in to aid The Daring Duo in cracking their toughest crimes. Dynomutt Dog Wonder has the historic significance of casting the first African-American public official in Saturday Morning cartoons, The Mayor (voiced by the late Larry McCormick). Dynomutt Dog Wonder (Picture 1). Dynomutt Dog Wonder cartoon images gallery 1. Dynomutt Dog Wonder cartoon pictures collection 1. Dynomutt, Dog Wonder is an American animated television series produced for Saturday mornings by Hanna-Barbera about a Batman-esque super hero, the Blue Falcon and his assistant, a bumbling yet generally effective robot dog Dynomutt, who could produce a seemingly infinite number of mechanical devices from his body. As with many other animated super-heroes of the era, no origin for the characters were ever provided. Like most Saturday morning animated series' of the era, Dynomutt, Dog Wonder contained a laugh track. Between January 2 and March 9, 2008, repeats of Dynomutt, Dog Wonder were shown on Boomerang. On June 4, 2009, Dynomutt, Dog Wonder returned to Boomerang and airs Thursdays through Sundays at 10am Eastern. Millionaire socialite art dealer Radley Crown (a Bruce Wayne incarnate voiced by Gary Owens) and his mechanical mongrel, Dynomutt (voiced by Frank Welker who got the inspiration for the voice from the Gertrude and Heathcliff characters of Red Skelton), enjoy leisure time in their base of operations Big City, until alerted by the Falcon Flash. They immediately dash for The Falcon's Lair (situated in Crown's penthouse apartment), where they switch to their secret identities, The Blue Falcon and Dog Wonder, respectively, receive the report via TV screen from the secret GHQ of secret agent F.O.C.U.S. One (voiced by Ron Feinberg, the tongue-in-cheek narrator of all 20 segments of Dynomutt Dog Wonder), and jump into The Falconcar and speed into the fray against assorted evildoers.
