The basic premise of the show is Jabberjaw is the main character, Jabberjaw, is a cross bewtween Bruce, from the Steven Speilberg movie JAWS, and Curly Howard, from the Three Stooges who finds himself in a new adventure week after week. He's accompanied by a group of teenagers which form the rock group the Neptunes (an under-water Josie and the Pussie Cats knock-off, actually, this show borrowed heavily from other Hanna-Barbara cartoons which is apparent to anyone above the age of 4). They all live "under the sea" where they battle various villans who threaten their underwater world (I think Disney owes some rolaties to Jabberjaw for coming up with the concept for their Little Mermaid film) . This show was an underated cog in the framework of the USA Cartoon express (along with the likes of the cartoons "Scooby Doo", the "Smurfs", "Great Grape Ape" and other cult classics) but now, since cartoons bit the big one long ago, all we have left on USA if dreck like MONK. If you would like the Wikipedia blurb on Jabberjaw, please read on: Jabberjaw was a Hanna-Barbera cartoon series created in 1976, starring a fictional shark named Jabberjaw and his four young adult cohorts, who had various adventures in a futuristic underwater world. The quintet also performed regularly as a rock group called The Neptunes. Jabberjaw (voiced by Frank Welker): The Neptunes' drummer. Jabberjaw was a great white shark whose voice sounded similar to Jerome "Curly" Howard of the Three Stooges. Jabberjaw found it hard to get respect in a society where "shark ejectors" (robots that would guard various buildings or cities against sharks being allowed to enter) were commonplace, prompting him to frequently utter his catchphrase (borrowed from 1970s comedian Rodney Dangerfield): "No respect!" Biff (voiced by Tommy Cook): A brunette-haired young man, Biff was the band's guitar player and level-headed leader, similar to Scooby-Doo's Fred Jones. Bubbles (voiced by Julie McWhirter): A blonde-haired young woman, Bubbles played piano for The Neptunes. She was extremely ditzy and dimwitted, similar to Josie and the Pussycats' Melody Valentine. Clamhead (voiced by Barry Gordon): Played bass guitar for The Neptunes. Clamhead tended to be either somewhat nervous or fairly impressed by new things (his catchphrases were "abba-abba-abba!" and "wowee-wow-wow!"). Clamhead was Jabberjaw's best friend, and bore a strong resemblance to Scooby-Doo's Shaggy Rogers. Jabberjaw (Picture 2). Jabberjaw cartoon images gallery 2. Jabberjaw cartoon pictures collection 2.
